Useful Augmented Reality | Priority Mail

There’s been a lot of talk about AR and it’s actual value beyond displaying a clever image for people just to look at. This is an awesome example of the technologies usefulness. Developed by AKQA for United States Postal Service, Priority Mail enables punters to view a Virtual Box Simulation that projects box holograms onto their parcel.  This way anyone can compare the size of the real stuff they want to ship to size of the virtual box on the screen – thus getting the size/price of postage right.

Brilliant.
