Noby Noby Boy

If you don’t already know, Noby Noby Boy is an odd Playstation 3 game by Keita Takahashi, creator of the Katamari Damacy series, available on PSN in which you (the player) control a worm style quadrupedal thing called BOY. By moving both ends of boy in opposite directions (left analog stick front end / right stick back) you can stretch BOY around the surreal candy coloured environment (see below). Boy, a sort of worm/dog combo, can also interact with stationary objects like houses, or AI-controlled characters such as animals.

There seems to be little point to the game other than collecting points based on stretching. Points are submitted online (via another character called Sun) to another character called GIRL, blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, what I liked is that the game enables you to video record your play and then automatically uploads that footage to your YouTube account (see above). Again, here there seems little point – however, I do like that you can record from inside a game on a console and upload that footage automatically to the Tube.

I love stuff that blurs the line between console gaming and t’net like this, stuff that connects it all up.
