Hollywoodland Blu Ray
Drama inspired by one of Hollywood’s most infamous mysteries, the death of “Superman” TV star George Reeves (Ben Affleck). The film is the story of a P.I. (Adrien Brody) attempting to get to the bottom of a mystery that everyone in Hollywood seems to be ignoring or trying to hide.The cast is excellent and the story is interesting and well told, but the film is way too long and rambles a bit to much for my liking. It’s a very well-acted, good-looking movie, but it is much less gripping than I hoped it would be. Director Allen Coulter should have concentrated more on the authentic mystery and suspense, rather than troubled P.I. Brody and all his woes. Hollywoodland is worth seeing if you appreciate great performances, or simply enjoy the seedy side of the 1950s.
