Google Social Search

Google Labs have announced Social Search as a new feature on their search engine that will launch in the next few weeks. Basically social networking information from your friends, like their photos or status will be included at the bottom of you Google results. Data is pulled from social networks connected to your Google Profile – the more connected, the more social information will appear. Social Network image search has also been improved, so images become more relevant based on network data.

Facebook has recently been challenging Google’s stranglehold on search taking the angle that they ‘believe in the wisdom of friends’. There’s a lot of evidence that they might be right and this move from Google suggests the search leviathan might be feeling the same way.

More.

Interesting.
