Ping enables you to publicly announce the music that you like, share music with your friends and make Twitter-like comments on it in real-time. You can follow your mates and even artists on Ping fan pages that encourage conversations with fans.

Hurts and novelist Joe Stretch have created an interactive audio novel on Spotify in which you get to play the protagonist. Narrated by Anna Friel, ‘Don’t Let Go’  has been broken into chunks published as tracks on Spotify which can be located by typing a code into the search field. Not unlike those adventure books I had as a kid (aside from the technology bent and extracts of music from Hurts’ brand new album “Happiness”) at the end of each passage you’re be offered a choice of what to do next. If you manage to get to one of the story’s eleven possible endings without dying, you’ll be rewarded with an exclusive preview of an album track.

In Limbo you control a boy who wakes up in a forest with no indication of who you are, how you got there, or where you’re going. Armed with nothing but the ability to walk, jump and grab – you then set out to explore a dank eerie world where the feeble light is consumed by an inky black abyss.

That exploration is an outstanding well crafted adventure. A combination of wonderfully simple but incredibly powerful visuals, sound and gameplay that, at times, is one of the finest examples of gaming from the last few years. Cerebral puzzles and physical ‘twitch’ actions in a world that feels like Tim Burton‘s version of a sparse and desolate Silent Hill.

It’s not cheap and it’s short – but while you’re in there you’ll love every second.

So all you need to do is select the relevant option, get some 3D glasses or stare at the screen bosseyed. I have to admit I tried the latter (cross-eyed as above) which actually vaguely worked. Not quite as good as a Bravia, but 3D nonetheless.

Last november the nice folks at Atomic Floyd sent me a pair of HiDefJax headphones. Nice looking phones with a quality sound. I liked them a lot, but then, about 5 months later, they broke. The sound stopped coming out of one of the tiny speakers. I alerted the Floyd who very kindly sent me another pair of the same phones. Awesome, except that pair is now broken. The sound has stopped coming out of one of the tiny speakers. Rubbish. Once is forgivable, twice is just bad.

So, if you read my post and have bought a pair – I’m sorry. If you haven’t and you’re looking for a new pair of phones, probably best not get a pair of Atomic Floyd as they seemingly only last 4/5 months.

In case you missed it Star Wars Uncut is a project that enables 472 people the opportunity to recreate Star Wars: A New Hope. Basically the entire movie has been split up into 15 second clips which people across the internet have re-shot. Over a year since it’s inception the film is finally finished.
