eBay yourself to fame
The widely-ridiculed German film director, Uwe Boll, is so confident of the cult appeal of his upcoming action flick he is auctioning off the chance to appear in the film on eBay.
Mr Boll, known for his ultra-violent adaptations of best-selling video games and his tendency to challenge web critics to real-life boxing matches, starts shooting his next film, Far Cry, in June.
It is based on the popular first person shooter video game series with the same name, and follows soon after the release of his other films, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne.
An auction on the German eBay site, now at €1998 and with one bid, offers bidders the chance to accompany the Far Cry film crew to Vancouver, Canada, to hang out on the set for five days, meet the actors and appear as a “static participant” or background extra.
The auction winner must not only pay Mr Boll the final bid price but also fund their own journey to Vancouver and their hotel expenses.
