The league starts August 28th…

Anomaly Vs Viney St Swithins

Anomaly are working with Viney St Swithins FC to develop and promote their following worldwide. The club plays in the Northern Gloucestershire Senior League 2 and were placed 12th of 17 last season – obviously we’re aiming for a promotion this season. We’ve designed a club crest, kitted the team out in Umbro and got them a new sponsor – in the form of Sony. The idea is to see if we can help Viney St Swithins improve and grow as a club and to follow the story of how that develops. Manager Simon James: “Anomaly’s interest in us is certainly not financial, they just want to see how they can influence a small football club. It’s exciting for us, but we don’t really know how things are going to pan out.”

This Saturday, Viney’s first-team will play their opening friendly at home to a Forest Green Rovers XI (3pm). The Forest Green side is expected to include mostly reserves and under-18s.

I ♥ Anomaly.

Are You An Anomaly?

As from August I will be setting aside the last Friday of the month to meet and greet anyone who’d like to talk to us (Anomaly) about the possibility of working in our non-creative department. Of course when I say non-creative department I don’t mean that we aren’t creative – I mean that it is not technically a department.

The application process is pretty simple, you (the contender) send us an email to uktalent at anomaly dot com with some details about yourself/selves, some examples of your work and a preferred time slot which will be a 30 minute period between 930 – 1230 and 1 – 1700 (obviously starting on the hour of the half hour). To make the cut for the August you’ll need to email us by the last day of July and so on. Following a simple vetting process to determine the validity and relevance of your claim we’ll nominate you a specific time and email you back (with at least 2 weeks notice) before the day. If you can’t get to us than I am happy to Skype, just let us know when you send us your details. Obviously, we’ll do our best to give everyone their preferred time, but this may not always be possible.

The reality is that we probably won’t be able to see everyone (that may be a little much based on the current interest levels), however we will get back to you and keep your details for the future.

The first session will be on 27th of August at a yet to be disclosed location. The slots will be issued on a first come first served basis will overspill being pushed to the following month.

Over to you.

Awards + New Project For rubbishcorp®

Today has been a pretty special day for rubbishcorp®. Not only did I discover that Nokia viNe scooped 2 Webbys at this years (prestigious) ceremony, but I’ve also accepted an offer from a company I hugely admire and have been talking to for several years. Obviously it’s too early to divulge any further details – other than to say I am pretty frakkin’ happy.

As John ‘Hannibal’ Smith would say: I love it when a plan comes together.

viNe Wins: Experimental & Innovation and Best Use Of GPS/Location Technology.

adidas London Marathon Google Streetview

The London Marathon version of the adidas Marathon Google Streetview. This time mapping the London course with added landmarks and hints from miCoach, Haile Gebrselassie and a bloke called Keith (who’s an adidas Marathon coach). In this iteration there’s an added treasure hunt for 5 miCoach Pacers that have been secreted in random places around the course (Boston has been updated also).

Clues for the hunt are being published on the adidas running Facebook wall with the best/most lucky snoops being rewarded with a free unit.

Here (if you don’t see the app switch region to UK).

New adidas work from RIOT. This time mapping the entire Boston Marathon course onto Google Streetview and adding an overlay with landmarks and some handy hints from miCoach, Greg McMillan and last years winner Salina Kosgei. This is the first iteration, look out for some updates and additional functionality over the coming weeks as well as the launch of a London Marathon version which will include some competition/treasure hunt style activity.

adidas BasketBall YouTube Action

New work (and a YouTube first) from RIOT/adidas that rewards BasketBall fans for sharing and interacting with content on YouTube/adidasBasketball. It works by locking sections of a video until that video receives a certain amount of views (see below) at which point a new scene is revealed – and so on. The more views the more interesting the content.

adidas Match Tracker

Match Tracker is a learning tool and discussion resource that is valuable to non-professional players and coaches when teaching, learning and playing football. The app visualizes match data from recent Premiership, Champions League or tournament fixtures. The data is collected from the same source as that used by the managers of those clubs and delivered to the audience via this utility. Users can view data based on passes, goals, cards, tackles, shots from individuals or multiple players. The app can map an individuals movement, a linked move or a teams overall performance using a line tracking or a heat-map system.  A slider controls the timeline and pop-up menus deliver background infomation and contextual content.

The application will be updated with additional functionality, like a white-board function as well as tools that enable information to be exported and embedded on external sites.

Ommwriter

Picture 4

Ommwriter is a humble attempt to recapture what technology has snatched away from us today: our capacity to concentrate. Ommwriter is a simple text processor that firmly believes in making writing a pleasure once again, reinvindicating the close relationship between writer and paper. The more intimate the relation, the smoother the flow of inspiration.

If you are a scriptwriter, blogger, journalist, copy writer, poet or just someone who enjoys writing, welcome back to concentrating.
