Recon Instruments | Transcend Goggles

Transcend (Recon Instruments’ collaboration with Colorado’s Zeal Optics) is the world’s first GPS-enabled goggles with a head-mounted display system linked to Google Maps. These marvellous goggles apparently “require minimal interaction” yet boast an impressive amount of features, including a full-color micro LCD display, Google Maps overlay, real-time statistics (speed, altitude, vertical, run-counter, temperature and more), and keep a log of averages, maximums and minimums for each run over the entire day.

4TH Amendment Wear
Garments printed with metallic type that could, in theory, show up on TSA scanners and displays the 4th amendment.

“The clothes are designed as a silent protest against the new reality of being searched to the point where we’re basically naked. We don’t intend for this to be anything more than a thought-provoking way to fuel the debate about safety vs. civil liberties. If we sell a few items, great. But the main intention is to open more dialogue. It’s more of a conceptual piece than anything else.”
♥ it.

Levis Vs Facebook | Like-Minded Shopping
Nice early use of the Facebook ‘Like’ plug-in by Levi’s that enables visitors to see the number of facebookers who like an item on their new social (media) shopping site. They’ve integrated the feature with every product and it even pulls in pics of your friends who’ve “liked” the item. The site also extends Connect integration to create a “friends store” which customises the entire experience to be facebook friend based.
Nice.

The beautifully engineered interaction on this Wrangler Collection site makes you wanna look at every page.
Very nice.
It’s a real shame you can’t just buy the stuff on site – leveraging this experience with a little instant retail gratification would generate a lot more revenue than making people search out the products.

Paper | Scissors | Alone
The world’s first wearable magazine presents their 51st T-Shirt issue with augmented reality. The t-shirt houses an AR game of Paper, Scissors, Stone. As a side note, I might be wrong, but isn’t that my good friend Mr Fredrick Aven in this picture..?

thesixtyone | Music Discovery
‘On thesixtyone, new artists make music and listeners decide what’s good. We’re nurturing a growing ecosystem where talented folks can sell songs and merchandise directly to their fans. Unlike a record or distribution deal where they only make $1-2 per album (if they ever get paid, that is), artists on thesixtyone make at least $7 per album and are paid every 30 days — no wait for recoupment and no complex royalty schemes’
Recently overhauled and looking pretty good.

adidas Vs Star Wars
There is/will be a huge amount of debate as to whether or not this is a good ad/idea. Whether using breakdancing is acceptable, whether Sid Lee have done justice to the Star Wars franchise etc. I think that discussion largely misses the point. The product (adidas Star Wars sneakers) is the idea, you don’t really need another ad/idea to sell that concept to me. The point of this spot is to simply introduce the line and tell me when I can buy them, which it does very and well and, I’m guessing, to a massive amount of people . Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop, Calle 13, Neil Armstrong, Stormtroopers, Lord Vader and some Tie Fighters is pretty hard to argue with.
The force is strong in this one.
