Martian Attack | Tee Shirt Gaming

Augmented reality t-shirts on which you can play games. The shirts are a collaborative effort between Hybrid Apparel and augmented reality app Zappar (download Zappar for your iPhoneiPad, and Android). So it’s given that you need to install the free app on your device for the trick to work. Point your gadget’s camera to the t-shirt to trigger the animation sequence and play the game (in this case zapping Martian flying saucers). Fun if you’re holding the device – not so much fun if you’re the person wearing the T.

SuperCoolBiz | Uniqlo

In Japan, office workers are being encouraged to cut down on airconditioning use by wearing cooler clothing. Uniqlo is leaning into that frame with SuperCoolBiz which shows consumers in two different styles, business and casual, to demonstrate how to swap your business suit for a cooler style of dress.

You can, of course, click through to buy the cooler clothes underneath the pictures.

Wrist Watch Breathalyzer

Tokyoflash concept watch with a built-in breathalyzer for determining sobriety. ‘ After drinking, touch the button to activate the Alcohol Test Function, blow into the port and await the result. Your blood alcohol content reading gives an indication of your level of sobriety.’

My watch has a similar function, if I look at it around 2AM and I’m in a bar, chances are my level of sobriety is fairly low.

For Friday.

UNIQLOOKS 2011 Summer Contest

Updated from earlier this year, the UNIQLOOKS 2011 Summer Contest once again enables participants to upload their favorite UNIQLO look. This time tho they’ll get the opportunity to win a trip for two to a UNIQLO flagship store in Tokyo, Shanghai, New York, London or Paris. The uploaded looks that receive the highest number of ‘likes’ will be narrowed down to three by UNIQLO and stylist Nicola Formichetti. Those three will win the trips as well as their styles being presented by UNIQLO as the suggested looks for the summer.

I LIKE Diesel

Diesel have introduced QR codes in stores which enable punters to “Like” a product by scanning its code which then posts to their Facebook wall. At the moment the tech is trialing in Diesel stores in Madrid, but if successful may well be rolled out across Europe. It’s a very simple way to integrate Facebook sharing with real life shopping.

I’m guessing an NFC version will follow, along will every other retailer on the planet.

Smart.

Uniqlooks

Uniqlo‘s cleverly named social media/gallery Art-Of-The-Trench style website that enables users to upload pictures of themselves sporting the company’s clothes. Users either tweet or Facebook their favorite photos to share with friends. Little red Uniqlo badges next to an item indicate that the outfit is of Uniqlo origin. There’s also a counter for the number of people who liked the picture at the top right corner.
