Robots of Brixton
‘Brixton has degenerated into a disregarded area inhabited by London’s new robot workforce – robots built and designed to carry out all of the tasks which humans are no longer inclined to do. The mechanical population of Brixton has rocketed, resulting in unplanned, cheap and quick additions to the skyline. The film follows the trials and tribulations of young robots surviving at the sharp end of inner city life, living the predictable existence of a populous hemmed in by poverty, disillusionment and mass unemployment. When the Police invade the one space which the robots can call their own, the fierce and strained relationship between the two sides explodes into an outbreak of violence echoing that of 1981.’
Matrix Vs Surfing
Rip Curl has again created a technological world-first by capturing full-tilt surfing action using a “30 camera Array” – a line of cameras firing consistently as surfers ride towards and past it. The results are unique “frozen moments of time” – that can be viewed in a combination of angles for a true in the round perspective.
Clever.

PS3TV

A Playstation TV that not only has a PS3 built into the back of it but also has a nifty little feature that enables two players to see two separate full-screen displays using the two different frames that usually create a 3D image. One player sees right side, one player left – see, clever.

Bench | Real Scenes
We’ve (Anomaly) been working with Bench on a project called Real Scenes, which is a series of films that explore the musical, cultural and creative climate within electronic music’s key destinations. The films, that have been created in partnership with mahosive electronic music magazine Resident Advisor, look at the role singular figureheads—producers, DJs, promoters—play in making their city’s music scene a point of world-wide interest. They’ll also look at places, spaces and inspirations, seeking out the essence of what gives these hyper-local scenes a truly global resonance.
‘Some cities have obviously offered more in this field than others, so we wanted to explore what makes the dynamic of these cities unique and celebrate them for giving us so much good music. In doing so we spoke with some of the most important figureheads in each city, uncovering the reasons why the sounds created there are affecting the electronic music scene on a global level.’
Have a gander:
They’re proving to be a huge success.
Nice work team Bench – both here and in Manchester.
