Mental.

I just found this on You Tube.

Thank you Bumllionaire!

Space Junk

“Between the launch of Sputnik on 4 October 1957 and 1 January 2008, approximately 4600 launches have placed some 6000 satellites into orbit, of which about 400 are travelling beyond geostationary orbit or on interplanetary trajectories.

Today, it is estimated that only 800 satellites are operational - roughly 45 percent of these are both in LEO and GEO. Space debris comprise the ever-increasing amount of inactive space hardware in orbit around the Earth as well as fragments of spacecraft that have broken up, exploded or otherwise become abandoned. About 50 percent of all trackable objects are due to in-orbit explosion events (about 200) or collision events (less than 10).”

Scary.

Broiler Nuggets Part II

Finnair have been checking out my broiler nugget post. Perhaps this isn’t the first time broiler nuggets have caused controversy.

Converse

I want to document the life of a pair of Converse, as I seem to get through so many. So, I am taking a photo a day of the above white One Star’s and uploading the shots to Flickr.

I’m not going to wear any other shoes until I am done, so I can also find out just how long they last.

I am willing to take bets.

Paul Arden

I am saddened to learn of the death of Paul Arden, one of advertisings legends. I had the pleasure of working with Paul a few years ago, during my time with his production company: Arden Sutherland Dodd.

Paul was an inspiration to me (as he was to countless others), I admired his brilliance and his seemingly tireless energy for his craft. During my year or so with Paul, he was the best (and by far the busiest), director in the shop - at the age of 63.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

A brilliant man.

Gun Control

Today I was warned by the security people at Heathrow not to wear this Tee Shirt in the airport as I was, and I quote: ‘promoting terrorism’.

Apparently any representation of weaponry is not allowed…

WTF?

Oyster Travel Dangerous

This image above is a result of my foot getting caught in the escalator at Oxford Circus this morning.

It was genius and it went a little like this:

As I came to the end of my ride, the rubber of my Converse got sort of stuck to the step in front and my toe drawn into the crack between the two steps. I quickly found that my foot was trapped and I desperately tried to free myself. I panicked, I thought I was going to be sucked under, like my worse childhood nightmare - my arms began flailing around as I tried to pull free my leg.

Suddenly, as I reached the end of the escalator, the end of my shoe was literally sheared off.

It was terrifying, but luckily I lived.

You know what though, I seem to have created a whole new look.

Oyster Travel Hidden Charges

I like to think that rubishcorp® can act as a public service of sorts, and therefore I feel obliged to tackle (head on), issues that effect me, and in turn, my readers.

My recent victory over O2 was a good example of why it pays not to be passive.

So, as you’ve probably gathered, I’ve had a little run in with TFL (more specifically my ‘pay as you go’ Oyster), which I have to admit, has me literally frothing at the mouth with fury. The scenario is not uncommon, I got on a train, the train was broken, so I got off; this however is not the subject of my lividness. It is something considerably more sinister.

Rubbish Fax

The sad demise of the once virile bastion of communication technology. And to think, the power of this was once ‘over the head’ of 3D.

I feel quite sad.
