Troika | Palindrome
I talked at Design Yatra a couple of weeks ago, as did Troika – the incredible London based art & design studio. During their talk they showed ‘Palindrome’, an instillation made of the V&A logo split into three independently revolving parts. The logo de-contructs and reconnects itself with each half turn forming a playful palindrome legible from either side.

The Canvas Experiment
Bit late on this one, but it’s good nonetheless. The Canvas Experiment is a interactive, fully-functional digital screen for Converse, made up of 480 half-red, half-blue Chuck Taylor All Stars that all react to the noise of a guitar/drums.

Iv’e been getting a little bit bored of projections – but I like this one.
Shoal
Spanning across a 50 meter long corridor, 467 fish-like objects wrapped in iridescent colours and suspended from the ceiling rotate rhythmically around their own axis
to display the movements and interdependency typical to shoal of fish.

Huge Big Motion Tetris
LummoBlocks is an interactive art installation that projects Tetris on to a giant screen in the Plaza de las Letras in Madrid. Passers-by can move and rotate the blocks by walking across the plaza.

Red Bull Vs Snow Vs Art
Melbourne-based installation artists ENESS bring a new perspective to action sports by fusing interactive art with skiers and snowboarders flying through the air. To achieve this spectacle a 21′ inflatable sphere hovered between hits as proprietary software mapped 3D visuals onto the snow and sphere. Riders were tracked via an infrared camera as they flew through the air.

Beck’s Beats | Vier Music Inspired Art
DJ Cheeba performs an exclusive live mix using Beck’s Vier beer taps to trigger audio samples and lighting effects across a grid of 600 LED-lit Beck’s bottles. Apparently intended as an audiovisual performance to celebrate the 2010 Beck’s Vier Music Inspires Art Programme.
A few things here, including the gratuitous shots of the beer pouring, might be considered by some as taking things a little to far..?
