JK-47 on the QFO

A new instrument for the turntablists of the next generation. It enables turntablists (love saying that) to mix and scratch in a way that is like playing a guitar. Apparently Q-BERT tested it for a year and a half, checking the best position for every single knob and feature.

romeocorp® 8C

Yesterday rubbishcorp® went to the Alfa Romeo Balocco curcuit (above) just outside Milan and sat in the passenger seat of an 8C Competizione (below). While there the car drifted and screeched its way around the track at speeds in exccess of 1 million miles an hour.

It’s not often a binner from Norwich gets to sit in a 6 figure super car that’ll do 0 to 60 in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 190 mph. Rest assured, when one does, one whoops and hollas like a little girl.

Thank you Alfa.

Feaakin’ awesome.

Virgin Media Broadband Speed

I have recently moved to Brighton and have installed Virgin Media as my Broadband/TV/Phone supplier of choice. I got a lot of shit from a lot of people, because everyone said they were rubbish. But, I don’t care much for Murdoch’s Sky and the other obvious choice was BT, so in this case - better the devil you don’t know. Virgin claim to have 20 meg BB down a fiber optic cable, which sounds good, my cynicism (of course) assumed that meant 1 or 2. However, I wanted some HD TV so I thought I’d give them a whirl.

I’ve had the service a week already and in that time I have used the phone (which works fine) and the HD TV, which can indeed be HD. But, until today, I hadn’t really been surfing as, when not doing the prior, I have been pretty busy unpacking stuff.

Anyway, as I excitedly fired up Firefox this evening I noticed that rubbishcorp® was already, like, totally loaded. And then, as I weaved my way around my interwebs, I started noticing a bit of a pattern of ‘extreme’ fastness - so much so that I though I’d test my line speed, which I did, here.

Take a peek at the results:

You’ve got to admit that’s pretty fecking good.

It’s not often I get to anti-moan about someone, but, Virgin Media - I salute you.

And it gets better, they have told me they are looking to crank it up to 50 meg by the end of the year - which basically means it’s gonna be so fast that I can post stuff before I’ve written it.

Sweet.
