Wiggle 3D | GIF

This (GIF based) technique creates the illusion of 3D by displaying two images in rapid left-eye/right-eye alternation. And the best thing is that you don’t need to wear special/silly glasses to see the effect – although I would recommend you avoid looking at the imagery if you are really angry.

Still Moving | New York + London

This film was made using a digital stills camera to create a stop motion animation which I think is a kinda mix of Tilt Shift and Tracking..? It is an evolution of a technique called Still Moving.

Looks good.

Google Nexus | Ninja’s Unboxing

I missed this one before. Sponsored by Google, made by Patrick Boivin, a French Canadian “autodidact director.” He wrote the script, did the lights, camera, direction, the editing, the animation and the special effects.

Augmented [Hyper] Reality | Domestic Robocop

Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it.’

A film produced by Keiichi Matsuda for his final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.

Upular

Video for ‘Upular’, composed using chords, bass notes and vocal samples from the Pixar film ‘Up’. This Upular video is an officially item and reminds me of the lovely Alice by Pogo – which seemingly has had it’s superior Disney style video wiped away (see below)…
