Air Forced?
Nike can be really hit and miss with the execution of their ‘virals’ (here and here), this is definately a case of miss. I know I have a little experience of filming stuff, but come on, isn’t the product cut away and the stunt double switch just a little too obvious?
Having said that, I guess millions of people will still watch it.
If, like me, you are not familiar with the star, she’s Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl..?.

Best headline pun in ages. Congrats.
And yes, it’s a tad on the awful side. The scene involving the car that is nowhere near hitting her – yet she diverts her run to go over the bonnet anyway – is cringeworthy.
Thank you, I’ve been a bit off recently. Back now tho’.
It’s a bit trite to us, but it’s smart.GG is just about the “hottest” (ahem) show in the US; all about social status and being.. hot. As you say millions will watch it – and it’s a smart way to connect Nike’s athletic heritage with its style appeal. or something.
XOXO
(that’s a gossip girl joke. I only watch it cos my girlfriend makes me)
It’s the execution I have the beef with, not the idea. I agree it’s smart, but it’s done so badly.
I see your beef. And I feel your beef. Mmmm. Beef.
Strong concur, Cooperman. V poor execution, idea isn’t bad though.
Pile of shit. Stephen Hawking would make a more convincing free runner.
I’m of two minds about this.
As content goes, it’s a yawn. And I wager that most viewers will know it’s not Taylor actually doing the stunts. (you’re right that from a filmmaking perspective it’s clunky, similar to the Owen Wilson skatevid.)
But on the other hand, I don’t think veracity is required for the viewers to enjoy it the content, maybe just basking in some of that Hollywood magic?
At the end of the day, of course I wanna know what the goal and subsequent ROI of the project was….
