Transformers ‘Grown men in disguise’
Mentalists.
Open Season Blu Ray

To be frank this is nothing more than a tired rehash of shit cliches.
The characters are rubbish, the level of imagination in the gags is poor and the quality of the writing is laughable. The film is bum.
But that’s not why I watched it. I wanted to see an new CG animation running in 1080p on my TV. And for that reason alone it was so worth it.
It looked brilliant.
Fun

55mph. Brilliant.
Snowblind Robert Sabbag

This is a book based solely on the cocaine smuggling antics of a Mr Zachery Swan and his apparently numerous associates.
Basically, he is to cocaine, what Howard Marks is to weed.
Swan’s blatent disregard for the law, inordinately large quantities of coke and some very intelligent and interesting scams, make this book highly entertaining.
If you enjoyed Mr.Nice then you won’t be able to put Snowblind down.

Minty Friday

Thank you ‘Dr Mintos’ for collecting us together. Top evening of piss-taking based fun. Top.
Hollywoodland Blu Ray
Drama inspired by one of Hollywood’s most infamous mysteries, the death of “Superman” TV star George Reeves (Ben Affleck). The film is the story of a P.I. (Adrien Brody) attempting to get to the bottom of a mystery that everyone in Hollywood seems to be ignoring or trying to hide.Tiny Ketchup

Resistance: Fall Of Man PS3

If you’re a fan of first-person shooters, and you are lucky enough to own a PS3, then you really owe it to yourself to give Resistance: Fall of Man a shot. It seems the developer, Insomniac, has taken the best aspects of some of the best first-person shooters from the past couple of years, added some great weapons and some great visual flourishes. It’s not Gears, but after a bit of effort - it gets pretty good.

On the window sill outside the Woodin’s Shades, near Liverpool Street. I didn’t press it, so I couldn’t work out where the heat comes from - let’s hope it’s an enormous Dragon. Genius.
fIOw PS3
This isn’t so much a game as it is an experience. With simplistic, beautiful and unique visuals, a haunting soundtrack and a “what’s next” design approach. flOw is all about exploring the unknown and seeing what lies deeper in the game’s seemingly infinite sea. It is a wonderful world and it’s wonderful to play - just tip the SIXAXIS in the direction you wanna go. A novelty, but a very lovely one. Downloaded from the PS3 store for £3.49
Non-Fiction Chuck Palahniuk
From my favourite writer Chuck Palahniuk, the bestselling author of “Fight Club” and “Diary,” a collection of essays and journalistic pieces that attempts (with some sucess) to prove that ‘real life’ is just as odd as ‘make-believe’. This is his first nonfiction collection and is both highly entertaining and deeply unsettling, like I think his world has always been. Each story offers a unique angle of existence as lived in and/or observed by the man himself, covering combine racing, castle builders and Juliette Lewis to name but a few. I didn’t enjoy this as much as I have his make-believe stories, but I think that was me, and not the book.
Armed America : Portraits of Gun Owners in their Homes
Aram Bartoll
This comes from Yacco (linked). Really interesting stuff, especially the crates (above), the google maps thing and ‘first person shooter’. Nice.
